Camp Lake Fire weekend.
This good place is situated on Burnett Creek Rd approx 25 klm from Boonah via Rathdowney, right on the shores of Lake Maroon.
After a big weekend at the Imbul rally, it was decided to have a lazy weekend at this camp ground.
Out of home at 3pm Friday headed down Mt. Lindsay Hwy through Beaudesert to Rathdowney for a short stop to change a flat tyre on the boat trailer. I will set a new record for flat tyres.
Soggy & Narelle went scooting past, Max & Lorraine pulled up to assist but all was in hand and Barbara & I were soon on our way again bringing up the rear.
It is a scenic drive on some very poor sealed road, in sections once you turn off Mt. Lindsay hwy on to the Boonah / Rathdowney Rd.
After getting lost trying to follow a hand out map we arrived on dusk and set up our camper for the stay then settled down to a few cold cleansing ales to settle the brain down.
It is a good place to fish, walk or like us just chill out like we did.
The facilities are ample and well maintained; the Lake is 60% full so plenty of water for ski activities.
A good relaxing couple of days was had, good weather, good company and cold gold life is so good.
It is a motorcycle friendly place and the manager owns a couple of bikes one being a new Victory the other being a Rocket 111. Good people to meet.
Sun morning there was a bit of low cloud over the hills so we packed up early and headed home, back to the real world.
Next Sunday off to the Gold Coast Cruiser Club annual toy run, from Worgarry, should be a good one. Regards Macca.
